Bromley 0 Charlton Athletic XI 2 – Pre-Season Friendly – 28/07/2010
Bromley were beaten by a young Charlton side thanks to two late goals at Hayes Lane on Wednesday night, inflicting The Ravens first defeat of their busy pre-season programme.
Bromley got off to a positive start with Warren McBean and Nicky Greene forcing saves from Andy Marshall and Steve Ferguson having a goal bound effort blocked by the impressive Yado Mambo. Marshall had to be on hand to tip over a dipping Ryan Dolby cross and then deny McBean again soon after. The Addicks best chance of the half fell to Freddie Warren but his effort was saved by Jamie Butler.
The second half was fairly non eventful with Charlton dominating possession, but creating very little until late on when Butler saved bravely at the feet of Alex Stavrinou. For The Ravens Ferguson set up both Tanner Hilyard & McBean, but they both headed off target. Then on 85mins Charlton took the lead when Lewis Perkins finished coolly inside the box and then on the very next attack it was 2-0 when Tamer Tuna converted a penalty after a poor challenge from John Scarborough.
